Remember that this is about $$, money, profits and political injustice. We have stopped the polluters for 2 1/2 years, but they are still doing everything they can to tire us out, wear us down and influence our political leaders to allow this Sludge dump put on top of us without any safety protections that other areas have. Remember that this open-air Sludge dump would be illegal south and north of us. ____________________________________ NURSERY PRODUCTS FILES AN APPEAL IN SLUDGE DUMP CASE!!!!! COUNTY STARTS NEW “SUPPLEMENTAL” EIR IN A HURRY AUG 19TH !!! This is an attack from both sides at once. Either way they get their Sludge dump if they win. But the County and dumpers will continue to avoid any safety measures like ENCLOSURE. We will continue to push for enclosure on any Sludge dump in our desert. This dump would not be allowed in LA, Orange, Imperial, SCAQMD or San Joaquin Air District. Why do we deserve this waste and its dangers? It is not High Desert waste. This will be the industrial, medical, roadway, household or any other thing anyone down below put down the drain. Do we deserve this in our windy climate? ______________________________________ MAJOR VICTORY Superior Court Case is resolved in our favor. The Environmental Impact Report and Conditional Use Permit are canceled by the Judge. This will not kill the project, but is a major victory for us and a big set back for SB County and the Sludge Company. This shows that our concerns were warranted.
